Mambo is an award winning, feature rich content management system; it is used for everything from simple marketing websites to complex portals. Mambo originated from an Australian company known as Miro who decided to open source their code by putting it up onSourceForge and licensing it under the GPL. Mambo is a perfectly functional content management system for all our clients wanting to alter their web sites from time to time without having to pay a Web master for each and every change. Mambo is a jam-packed content management system that would assist you in building your web site in no time. Mambo is still a long way from the old glory days when there was a very large, active community (prior to the Joomla. The Mambo Foundation is a non-profit corporation based in Australia, formed in August 2005 to serve as a supporting organization for the Mambo Open Source Project. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide support and protection for the development of the Mambo software system. The project is over 6 years old and backed by the non-profit Mambo Foundation. A few weeks ago, Mambo continued their winning streak by beating out Mozilla Firefox to again take home the "Best Open Source Solution" award at the Linux World Expo 2005 in San Francisco. For those of you who do not know much about Mambo, it is a Content Management System with a strange, yet dramatic history.

Installing Mambo CMS on 1&1 hosting packages is a fairly simple process, the minimum hosting package which will support Mambo CMS is their '1&1 Business' package at £8.
Once you have your 1&1 hosting package in place, which should only take around three hours from the point of ordering, you can then begin installing Mambo CMS
Once you have logged in to FTP, copy the Mambo CMS installtion files from your harddrive, if you placed them in cms_comp, copy them from there, you can select all of the files and copy them all at once if you wish to the chosen location for you domain. Once the database has been setup, we can begin the Mambo CMS installation.
Supply the username and password given to you on the final installation page, and the Mambo CMS administration console will be displayed.
